I was browsing Etsy the other day and came across the profile of artist Craig Forget out of Windsor Ontario. He has many cities created out of reclaimed wood, but for this week we’ll look at one of my hometown.
This piece is made painstakingly by Craig Forget and there are so many pieces to this puzzle I cannot imagine how long it took to create. This handmade art piece is comprised of a variety of wood such as Black Walnut, White Oak, Red Oak, Sycamore, Sassafras, Maple, White Ash and Hickory.
Craig used moss and lichen encrusted wood for the gardens and various landscapes. For the waterways, Craig used a wood that has been aged outside which gives it a blue-grey color you can see in the pictures. If you’d like to learn more or purchase this art piece visit it in his gallery online.
