Today we’re looking at a castle by the sea in Chemainus on Vancouver Island. Despite some of the worst listing photos I’ve come across in quite some time, this is a unique enough property that I couldn’t pass up writing about for our readers here. This home reminded me of something you’d see out on the east coast and it is always nice to see something totally different from the vast majority of homes out this way.
Ok ok, so it’s not quite a real castle…
This home however does have a lot of inspiration as you can see from the featured photo above. There is a lot of features that have taken from a castle both inside and out of 10121 Chemainus Road. This home takes a lot of influence from old English castles, as well the outside landscaping and courtyards seem to have some Mediterranean influence.
This castle sits on a 1.58 acre lot that is not only at the ocean’s edge, but it’s surrounded by lush rainforest giving you ultimate privacy. The home itself was built in 1994 and while is a bit dated inside, there is a whole lot of potential here. It already serves as a B&B, so if you’re looking to get into the business this might be it.
There is an owners quarters, as well a couple of guest suites that could be turned into more rooms if a family moves in here. There are eight decks in total to enjoy the ocean and mountain views, so everyone gets their own deck if need be. That’s just how easy it is to get your own bit of peace and quiet here, and the only thing you’re going to hear are waves crashing on the beach.
The castle is just about 4,000 square feet and has four bedrooms and four bath. It has been on the market for a while now at a price of $2,990,000 CAD and it is listed with Tim Wong and Jeff Cheung of Pacific Evergreen Realty Ltd.
